After the untimely passing of his father, Shri Hemandas Rupani, Mr. Prakash Rupani took the helm of his family’s edible oil business at a young age, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing and operations. Under his leadership, the business thrived until shifting government policies in the 1980s prompted him to diversify.
Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Rupani spent 18 months traveling across Europe and the Americas, researching innovative technologies and identifying opportunities to bring to India. In 1988, he founded Vikram Resins and Polymers, seizing an opportune moment to lease a manufacturing plant and venture into thermoset resins. His vision, combined with decades of manufacturing expertise, has established Vikram Resins as a trusted partner to industries across India.

In the past, Mr. Rupani founded RedMart, Singapore's BigBasket equivalent, ultimately selling the business to the Alibaba Group. Today, he continues to spend most of his time in the consumer space, running Nuguru Wellness, a holding company that incubates, invests in, and distributes CPG brands in the health and wellness sector.
